Abolition of the Comprehensive Area Assessment
Author: John Craig-Sharples

The Government has officially announced today the abolition of the Comprehensive Area Assessment. The CAA was the assessment model used by Whitehall to evaluate the effectiveness of local councils and local partnerships. The first results were published last December when Sutton Partnership was awarded a green flag for its outstanding work on sustainability.

Colleagues may be interested to see a copy of a presentation recently made by the council's chief executive, Paul Martin, which sets out some of the issues and opportunities presented by the changes in the regulatory framework.
